With the removal of most Covid-19 restrictions from 19th July, we are delighted to announce that we will now be able to revert to our normal maximum numbers swimming in Greystoke Pool. This is just below 60, compared to the maximum of 15 we have had to work with so far this year.

On busy days, we will be operating a ticketing system for those waiting to get in (on a first come first serve basis). This is to ensure fair access to the pool in busy times and to ensure we stay safe and do not exceed our maximum capacity. You may have to wait some time to get in and on very busy days we cannot guarentee you will be able to get in at all if you arrive later in the day. However, there is a nice children's play area and their are nice playing fields by the pool.

Please note there is no booking system for the pool, either by email, online or by telephone. So please do not try and contact us to book during public opening hours. It is possible at certain times of the day to book the pool for private hire - see our web page on this.

The changing rooms will now be open to the general public when swimming. The cafe will continue to be open for takeways to be consumed outside.

To protect our volunteers who work in the cafe, we kindly request that adults continue to bring a face mask and wear them in the cafe when you arrive to buy your tickets or order food and drinks.

Many thanks for your understanding and continued support

Greystoke Swimming Pool Committee

The Sports Association is responsible for Greystoke’s playing fields, children’s play areas and the village’s wonderful open air heated swimming pool and buildings (including its café). These are vital facilities for the village and surrounding communities.

The Sports Association has a very committed, effective and friendly group of 11 trustees who sit on the management committee. We are supported by our army of dedicated volunteers who help with maintenance, run the café and help at fundraising events. The Sports Association is a great way of meeting people in the local area.

A few trustees are stepping down from the committee this summer, after putting a great stint supporting the pool. This includes the current chair. We are therefore seeking some new blood on the committee to help in the running of the pool. There are lots of different roles available to suit anybody with enthusiasm and a desire to help the local community run this wonderful facility.

The role of the new chair is to ensure the co-ordination of the work of the committee and to continue to take forward the development of the swimming pool and our other facilities.

For an informal discussion about what is involved please do not hesitant to contact Stephen Nicol via our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/greystokepool

Our plans are of cause all subject to government regulations and how the move along the roadmap progresses.
