We are delighted to be able to announce that from tomorrow Saturday 12th June the open air swimming pool and wonderful new cafe will at long last be open to members of the public. The opening hours for now will be:

  • Saturday and Sunday 1pm to 6pm
  • Monday to Friday 3pm to 6pm

We are having to operate under current Covid restrictions so please note:

1. The changing rooms will not be open so please come ready to change outdoors

2. There will have to be a maximum of 15 swimmers in the pool at any one time; this means that we will have to restrict the number of pool users and use an arm band system to allow folk to swim for 1 or 2 hour periods depending on how busy we are. So, if you want to swim at busy times you may have to wait.

3. There is no booking system for public swimming; it is first come first served, but we will try and ensure you all get a chance to swim.

Please bear with us as we try and operate under these difficult conditions and also appreciate that this will all be new for the cafe volunteers as well. We think it is great that we are open at all!

The cafe will be serving hot drinks from our fancy new coffee machine, ice creams and ice lollies and healthy snacks.

Come and enjoy.

The Sports Association is responsible for Greystoke’s playing fields, children’s play areas and the village’s wonderful open air heated swimming pool and buildings (including its café). These are vital facilities for the village and surrounding communities.

The Sports Association has a very committed, effective and friendly group of 11 trustees who sit on the management committee. We are supported by our army of dedicated volunteers who help with maintenance, run the café and help at fundraising events. The Sports Association is a great way of meeting people in the local area.

A few trustees are stepping down from the committee this summer, after putting a great stint supporting the pool. This includes the current chair. We are therefore seeking some new blood on the committee to help in the running of the pool. There are lots of different roles available to suit anybody with enthusiasm and a desire to help the local community run this wonderful facility.

The role of the new chair is to ensure the co-ordination of the work of the committee and to continue to take forward the development of the swimming pool and our other facilities.

For an informal discussion about what is involved please do not hesitant to contact Stephen Nicol via our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/greystokepool

Covid-19  - Lastest re-opening update regarding the swimming pool for 2021

Our plans are of cause all subject to government regulations and how the move along the roadmap progresses.

Excellent news - we have now re-opened for our adult swimming club members.  They are booking sessions via TeamApp and we are restricted to five adults per session

We still intend to open the pool and the new café for members of the public in June, but the date is still to be confirmed. You'll then be able to see and use our wonderful new facilities which were compled in 2020 just before Lockdown. We first need to train new lifeguards and ensure everything is Covid-compliant, this work is underway.
