The Committee of Greystoke Swimming Pool is delighted to announce a series of five film Nights to be held at the village hall throughout this autumn and winter. We are supported by Eden Arts who are providing the equipment and films. The ticket price includes a one pot supper and an icecream. There will be a licensed bar to purchase wine, beer and soft drinks. Tickets are £10.00 each and must be bought in advance. They are available at the post office or from Judith Aris (telephone 017684 83669) or members of the committee. 7.00pm start.
If you have volunteered this season or given your services at no cost, we would like to thank you by inviting you to our end of season BBQ on Sunday September 10th at 6.30pm. Please do sign up in the café so we know how many people to cater for. There will be some drink provided but feel free to bring a bottle of your favourite tipple with you. There will be a lifeguard so if you want to swim as well, you can.
This year’s swimming season is drawing to a close. But the fundraising carries on during the winter and there are lots of exciting events to look forward to. We have had a good season from a revenue perspective. Building on our success this year, we are hoping to raise more money through grant applications and fundraising activities so that we can further improve the pool facilities. The new pool covers we invested in this year have kept the pool warmer (27 degrees) and saved us money on our electricity bills.
The Pool will definitely stay open until our end of season volunteer thank you BBQ party on September 10th. (See details below.) Beyond that, we will take a view dependent on the long range weather forecast. If it looks good, we will stay open until the end of September. So we will continue to need volunteers in the café. Please do sign up if you can spare even a little time.
